Mexico Day 2
February 8
Fernando's daughter, Anna.
Donnie & Sharon (Weeks Honey Farm of Omega, GA) had stories to tell and they knew how to tell them. So between breakfast and church we heard 16% of them. Good thing they told them while they could because in 36 hours both would be sick (not Montezuma's revenge, but cough & laryngitis), unable to talk and semi-bed ridden for the rest of the week. Fortunately no one else caught what they caught. They had brought two of their Mexican workers with them. After the week in Gomez they were going to visit their families, in Mexico, before returning to GA in March. Horacio brought his family along to Gomez while Juan had not.
Ceasar waving his arm. No praise songs here they used the hymnal. Knew the songs but the singing in Spanish mangled my brain so the best I could do was hum along.
Tony preaching. Horacio, Mrs. Horacio (need to start writing names down) & Juan stood (along with 6-7 others) for the invitation at the end of the service.
Odilia & Vicky visiting after church. Dad and I were staying at their house. I and Norm stayed with them four (not five) years ago.
Juan & Vicky.
Dinner/lunch was Chinese takeout, don't like Chinese but this was good. For some reason it was mildly amusing to be eating Chinese takeout in Mexico. This was the only meal without tortillas or frijoles.
Cristo de las Noas is 71.5 ft tall making it the third tallest statue of Christ in Latin America.
A panoramic view of Torreón from North to East. The dry river, on the left, separates Gómez Palacio from Torreón. We were 529' above the city.
Odilia, Sharon, Donnie & Vicky.
