Mexico Day 6
A load of sand and gravel, means concrete is going to be poured. It had been moved inside by the time we returned for lunch/dinner.
Trash tree, used to keep the dogs out of the trash. No unions here, they ran to keep up.
Stayed in town today. Five went to Sofia to put the roof on the church and the rest of us built a wall on the pastor's new lot. He had purchase the lot next to his house and it needed a wall. If it's not farm land it has a wall around it or the house is as big as the lot.
Three hours and twenty minute later it was dinner/lunch time and the north wall was almost completed, for the day.
Kinda of hard to eat lunch/dinner for two hours so Earl & Tony shot some pool.
Then it was Caleb's turn.
After six hours of work. we were almost done for the day. With no openings it went up fast. Caleb and Earl would start on opposite ends and meet in the middle.
Pablo showing Matt the proper way to jump over dinosaurs.
Back at the church I sat outside watching the world pass by while waiting for the Sofia crew to arrive. Good thing to because the Mr. Donut showed up with his speaker blaring. Thought the yin-yang and playboy symbols did a lot to spice up the side of the Hyundai something-or-other. (Besides being a donut roach coach these cars are also the taxi of choice). The 4210 went over my head.
Only saw a couple things that looked like donuts. I had one of the caramel/pink frosted things on the top shelf. It wasn't a donut.
Everything was 3 pesos (22¢ except for the pie looking ones on the right lower middle shelf which were ? pesos) Wanted to try more but was not hungry, there was still supper/dinner to eat and a DQ to visit.
Mr. Donut used the towel, on his shoulder, to chase away the flies. Earl wanted me to get a picture but Mexican flies are not any bigger then USA flies so they were too small to photograph. Beside there were only 7-10 of them.
Washed down the donut with a coke from the corner store. One could get a 500ml Manzana Lift for 8 Pesos or a Fanta for 5 pesos. Once I struck it rich and found 600ml Cokes for 8 pesos (57¢). Could not afford not to drink it.
Dogs, the cows of Mexico. No dog catchers here.
The cooks making gorditas for supper/dinner.
Thursday night is DQ night. Dave #1 takes the cooks and since he's buying there is no shortage of "cooks". Ended up with two van loads. I had a large Oreo Blizzard (yes they hold it upside down before handing it to you) that cost Dave #1 39 pesos ($2.79). A small was 32 pesos.
Clay was not awake to place his order...
...but he woke up in time to take mom's ice cream cone.
This was a one sided conversation, half couldn't speak Spanish and the other half couldn't speak Inglés.
When we arrived it was empty, then 28 of us walked in.
